Finland continues producing noteworthy bands. This is true also of Hateform, formed in April 2004 by five musicians with years of previous experience in different bands of the scene, namely Insomnium and Watch Me Fall. Hateform is less a single project than a band that aims to give its best by means of melodic death and thrash metal influenced by bands from the United States and Europe that follow the same style, with a bit of added force and personality.The release this review is based on is the band's first demo CD with four demolishing compositions with a quality of recording and mastering worthy of any professional release. The first track, "Dead", immediately shows the bands nature, with a sound reminiscent to that of Esqarial from Poland and of Machine Head in its better days with excellent, heavy and varied riffs and growls. It's impossible not to start headbanging while listening to this song. "Warbringer" opens with a small sequence of melodic guitars that are later repeated throughout their extension and continue half time with great double bass drums. "Despise" follows the riffs of the previous ones and is the only somewhat simple song on the disc. It's not a bad song but perhaps lacks variety. "I Won´t Kneel" is the best of these pieces. It has the all the elements of the other ones and more; a great song that, despite it's originality, does not depart from the line of European death/thrash: fast, heavy and melodic.
At the end of the demo comes the realisation of the passing of the shortest 16 minutes ever, with a compulsion to play the disc again. Keep a watchful eye on Hateform; it is unbelievable that labels have not spotted this promising group. Definitely recommended to fans of high quality death/thrash.

Finlandia sigue produciendocomo es ya costumbre bandas que dan y darán de que hablar, tal es el caso de Hateform, formada en abril del 2004 por cinco músicos que se las traen, con diez años de experiencia en varias bandas con varios años de carrera como Insomnium y Watch Me All. Este no es un proyecto más, es una banda consolidada dispuesta a dar lo mejor de sí por medio de un death melódico y thrash metal moderno influenciado por bandas de Estados Unidos y Europa que siguen esa misma línea, pero Hateform ha sabido añadirle una fuerza y personalidad especial.
El disco que nos atañe es su primera producción en formato de demo/promo CD con cuatro demoledoras composiciones, con una calidad de grabación y masterización digna de cualquier álbum profesional.
"Dead" es el primer tema que abre directamente a lo que es la banda, death/thrash del mejor con un sonido un tanto similar al de los polacos de Esqarial y los americanos de Machine Head en sus mejores tiempos con excelentes, pesados y variados riffs thrash y growls poderosos, es imposible no empezar a mover la cabeza al escuchar esta canción, "Warbringer" abre con una pequeña secuencia de guitarras melódicas que se repiten a lo largo de su extensión y después continuaa medio tiempo con un gran doble bombo para dar paso a un pequeño solo y de nuevo la receta del inicio, coro sencillo y pegadizo al igual que su predecesora.
"Despise" sigue los riffs de las anteriores y es talvez la única canción un tanto simple de todas no por ello es mala sino que le falta un poco de variedad, tanto en lo musical como en los vocal, "I Won´t Kneel"... ARRGGHHHH ha repartir patadas, la mejor de todas; tiene todo lo de las anteriores y más, gran tema que no abandona en toda su extensión la línea del death/thrash europeo, rápida, pesada y melódica al principio y al final seguida de un medio tiempo sublime y solos de guitarra acordes y variados, de nuevo los coros quedaran retumbando en la cabeza.
Y llega el final del demo con 16 minutos de extensión que se hacen cortísimos y que obligan a repetir de nuevo todo el cd; pónganle atención a Hateform es imposible que un sello disquero no se fije en ellos y así poder disfrutar pronto de más metal pesado y de calidad, definitivamente recomendado para los que gusten del death/trash de alto nivel.
