This is the first promo-cd from HATEFORM, a Finnish death/thrash metal act. This band has razor sharp guitar riffs and tight rhythms. I was also surprised by the fact that Ville Vänni (also a member of INSOMNIUM) is involved with this band. Of course the styles of the bands differ a lot. This band is edged more towards a death metal approach.

However there's no blast beat or satanic atmosphere, as is the case in the recently trendy death/thrash metal. This band puts more emphasis on thrashy intensity. The structures of the songs are simple and melodies are catchy. Therefore there are no frequent rhythm changes or excessive dramatic twists. HATEFORM's style can be described as sharp and straightforward. However, there are darker and more melancholic nuances and exploding guitar solos. The vocalist growls at a low pitch, matching the aggressive sound of HATEFORM very well. The very refined production with no coarseness makes the sound tighter. I love this band, great.
